What? It's 2009!He was wrong of course, it was $1.59 here in Holland, Michigan. My regret is that I did not make note of his name at the time because I knew he was crazy just as many of our customers did when I shared his sentiment with them. But he was not crazy and we are not either for partaking in one of life's absolute joys.....boating for pleasure. It's that pleasure that keeps us coming back for more and more and well yes more. Because if you are like me you just cannot get enough of "time on the water". There's some doom and gloom out there now, living in Michigan is looked at with pity, but there are still people living here. Living and enjoying one of the most beautiful states of our glorious union, really Michigan is! Surrounded by the fresh water oceans of; Michigan, Huron, Superior, and Erie this state for all the negative publicity is incredible. It's always a hoot to watch the face of customers that have never been here before when we clear the break water to Lake Michigan and for the first time they see the fresh water sea that we see all the time. What a sea it is they say. Wow say others, is it always this calm? Is it always this rough? And always, always the Great Lake makes a forever first impression. We get to experience it each day, spring, summer, fall and yes even now winter. The lakes are majestic and they invite the true boater to explore, enjoy, experience and energize themselves as few other bodies of water can. So put me in the column of those that believe in Michigan, it's people, the resources, the beauty and bounty of our great state. Yes we have problems, they can be changed and fixed (see the Fair Tax), yes we we have challenges, they can be overcome, remember we have the best boating area in the world, why not make in a point to join us this season and make some forever memories of your own.
